Here are three ways to dress up your morning toast that are quick enough for a weekday breakfast, but also special enough for a weekend breakfast.

Cream Cheese Toast Three Ways

Ingredients

Fruit & Honey Cream Cheese Toast:

  • 2 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tsp honey approx.
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 slice whole grain bread toasted
  • 1/3 cup assorted berries strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and/or blueberries
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • Mint leaves thinly sliced

Bacon & Herb Cream Cheese Toast:

  • 2 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped chives
  • 1 tsp roasted garlic purée
  • 1 slice whole grain bread toasted
  • 3 strips bacon cooked
  • 1/2 small tomato sliced
  • 1 tsp capers
  • 1/2 small shallot very thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp shaved Parmesan cheese

Mediterranean Cream Cheese Toast:

  • 2 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp finely grated lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 slice whole grain bread toasted
  • 1 small tomato chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped cucumber
  • 2 tbsp sliced Kalamata olives
  • 2 tbsp crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 tsp finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Fruit & Honey Cream Cheese Toast: Blend together cream cheese, honey and cinnamon; spread over toast. Top with berries, chia seeds and mint. Drizzle with additional honey. Cut into 4 pieces.
  • Bacon & Herb Cream Cheese Toast: Blend together cream cheese, chives and garlic; spread over toast. Top with bacon, tomato, capers and shallot. Sprinkle shaved Parmesan over top. Cut into 4 pieces.
  • Mediterranean Cream Cheese Toast: Blend together cream cheese, lemon juice, lemon zest and oregano; spread over toast. Top with tomato, cucumber, olives and feta cheese. Sprinkle with parsley and drizzle with olive oil. Cut into 4 pieces.

Notes

Tip: Create a cream cheese toast bar by preparing a variety of flavored cream cheeses and serving them buffet-style with assorted breads and toppings.
