Curriculum Kits

Dairy Council of Arizona® has partnered with Dairy Council ® of California to bring AZ teachers award-winning curriculum packages!

Student workbooks are consumable, so order enough that each child has their own workbook.

Included with all curriculum materials:

  • Alignment with national educational standards for integration with units on math, social science, health, language arts and physical education.
  • A behavior-change model that teaches students about healthy eating and physical activity, then encourages changes in attitudes and behaviors.
  • Family Homework to extend the lessons into the home (available in both English and Spanish.)
  • Pre-assessment and post-assessments to gauge changes in student knowledge and achievement.

The Dairy Council® of California offers a 30 minute Teacher Training to help you get to prepare you to teach your grade level nutrition curriculum.

Kindergarten:

Building a Healthy Me

This kindergarten nutrition education curriculum offers 8 units with fun activities that span 5-15 minutes and fit into a variety of classroom themes.

 

Teacher Materials include: Teacher Lesson Plan Guide, 2 double-sided posters, Sample Student Workbooks, Food Picture Cards.

1st Grade:

Healthy Choices, Healthy Me

Use these 8 lessons to build a foundation of healthy habits that will continue for a lifetime.

2nd Grade:

Healthy Choices, Healthy Me

The lessons in this kit build on the information taught in the first grade.  They cover eating balanced breakfasts, snacks and meals, and participating in active play for at least 60 minutes a day.

Shaping Up My Choices

Third grade is an essential year to teach students the skills they need to apply problem-solving, reasoning and critical thinking techniques to their food choices.

Nutrition Pathfinders

Building on the concepts taught in 4th grade, this curriculum emphasizes serving sizes and how to choose healthy options when eating out.  Materials from Dairy Council of California supplement this program.
