Mini Sweet Potato Donuts with Maple Glaze

  • 6 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mashed sweet potato (fresh or canned)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2-3 tsp milk


  1. Preheat oven to 350; grease donut pan

  2. In a large bowl combine butter and sugar; mix well

  3. To the butter mixture add in flour, baking powder, salt , and cinnamon; stir to combine

  4. Add in milk and mashed sweet potatoes; mix well

  5. To prepare glaze, in a small bowl mix powdered sugar and syrup. Add milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until glaze is thin

  6. To cook donuts, add batter to each donut cup until approximately half full (tip: put batter in a large plastic storage bag, cut the corner, and pipe into the cups). Cook for 7-8 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched

  7. Allow donuts to cool slightly, remove from pan. While still warm, dip donuts into the glaze

  8. Serve with a cold glass of milk
