The Dairy Council of Arizona understands the vital role a healthy, nutritious, and well-rounded diet plays in the well-being of Arizona’s children. We are committed to helping schools offer appealing and nutritious options to their students. That’s why we are excited to introduce Moo Brew, a coffee program designed specifically for high schools.
The Dairy Council of Arizona is proud to award eight selected high schools to launch the Moo Brew Coffee Program on their campuses! With many teens stopping by coffee shops before and after school, Moo Brew offers a unique opportunity to draw students to campus by providing delicious milk-based coffee beverages. The goal of this program is to not only boost revenue for your school’s nutrition department but also increase the consumption of nutritious milk among students.
High School Coffee Program Benefits:
Increased revenue
Some schools with a coffee program have experienced up to $900 per week in profits, more than $30,000 in a year.
Increased meal participation
Moo Brew may increase participation in school breakfast and lunch. Some schools reported up to a 4% ADP increase after implementation.
Enhanced image
Mimicking popular coffee shops like Starbucks, Dutch Bros, & Dunkin can improve the perception of your school kitchen’s offerings.

Compliance with USDA standards
Moo Brew beverages comply with USDA guidelines for high schools as part of a reimbursable meal or the Smart Snacks program. NOTE: each beverage cannot exceed 12 ounces and must be under 60 calories.
Boost milk consumption
Most students only consume 1–2 servings of dairy daily and need 3 servings. Moo Brew helps bridge this gap. Moo Brew beverages are milk-forward, offering students the 13 essential nutrients in milk while delivering on drink trends.
Application Details
Complete and submit the application below between Monday, September 9th, 2024 and Friday, October 25th, 2024, 5 PM.
Applications will be evaluated and selected by the Dairy Council of Arizona. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Schools selected to receive the Moo Brew Coffee Program Grant will be notified on or around November 1st, 2024. Schools will receive a 3-gallon Cold Brew N’ Serv System; each system will make 192 servings of Moo Brew. If requested, schools may elect to receive a service cart with stainless steel tabletop attachment, jigger, and associated signage. There is NO additional plumbing or electrical required to use the Cold Brew N’ Serve System.

Dairy Council of Arizona Moo Brew Coffee Program Grant Application
Please note that this grant application is SITE BASED, meaning multiple sites within a district may apply for this grant and EACH site requires a separate grant application.
Overview
Dairy Council of Arizona recognizes the importance of a healthy, nutritious, and well-rounded diet for the health of Arizona children. Coffee shops have become a normal part of life for today’s teenagers, with many students regularly stopping by coffee shops both before and after school. Dairy Council of Arizona is committed to assisting schools in provide healthful and desirable options to their student population, after all students are better able to learn when they are well nourished and eating healthy meals. The Dairy Council of Arizona will award 7-8 selected schools a grant to start the Moo Brew Coffee Program in their school The goal of the Moo Brew Program is to help students consume the recommended 3 cups of dairy per day while giving schools control over the nutrition in their student’s caffeinated beverages.
Evaluation and Selection Criteria
The Dairy Council of Moo Brew Coffee Program grants are open to all high schools in the state of Arizona with in-person campuses. Grants are also open to past Dairy Council of Arizona grant winners.
Programs Must Meet the Following Criteria:
- Be implemented during the 2024-2025 school year
- Include “Specific Promotional Activity/Activities” below;
- Promotion to students about the availability of Moo Brew through the following forms if applicable: school announcements, school newsletter, physical signage, and any digital signage on site
- Submit the “2024 Moo Brew Dairy Council Grant Tracking Sheet” monthly during the following time periods: November 2024 – May 2025 & August 2025 – November 2025. Grant awardees will submit data only for active school months. Tracking sheet need to indicate site information, Moo Brew serving methodology, daily participation, monthly participation, and school milk daily numbers. Specific Promotional Activities will need to be described in detail. Please clarify for which dates participation may be affected by breaks in school schedules.
- Be present for a site visit of your program to take photos, video, and post about your program on social media. If this is not feasible, the grantee agrees to email photos, video, and social media (making sure to tag @azmilkproducers in posts) to Dairy Council staff.
Programs receiving financial assistance shall not exclude from participation, deny benefits to or discriminate against any person or institution on the basis of race, color, age, sex, religion, national origin or physical handicap in accordance with Federal statutes.
Selection Process
Applications will be evaluated and selected by the Dairy Council of Arizona. Grant
proposal/applications must be submitted online at arizonamilk.org between Monday, September 9th, 2024 until Friday, October 25th, 2024 by 5 PM. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Successful applicants will be notified on or around November 1st, 2024. Dairy Council of Arizona will award up to eight (8) grant school sites. The first grant will be awarded on or around November 1st, 2024. Schools will receive a 3 gallon Cold Brew N’ Serv System; each system will make 192 servings of Moo Brew. If requested schools can elect to receive a service cart with stainless steel tabletop attachment, jigger, and associated signage. There is NO additional plumbing or electrical required to use the Cold Brew N’ Serve System, please watch the video linked above for reference on how the system works. After 12 submissions of 2024 Moo Brew Dairy Council Grant Tracking Sheets; schools will no longer be required to track information.
Please note Dairy Council of Arizona reserves the right to terminate or suspend a grant award if the terms of the grant or the Dairy Council of Arizona Moo Brew Coffee Grant Program Agreement are not met. In addition, Dairy Council of Arizona reserves the right to request the Grantee and Grantee agrees to repay Dairy Council of Arizona any grant funds not used for the purposes of the Grant, improperly applied by the Grantee or unused by the completion of the program.
Confidentiality
While under funding consideration, any submitted grant applications become property of the Dairy Council of Arizona. All information that is not otherwise available from public sources will be held in confidence and will be available only to appropriate Dairy Council of Arizona staff.
Acknowledgement and Disclaimer
Any publication or disclosure based on the Moo Brew Coffee program or program activities supported by Dairy Council of Arizona Moo Brew Coffee Grant Program must contain the following acknowledgment:
“This [publication/program/activity/film/video/Web site/event] was made possible by a grant from the Dairy Council of Arizona.” Social media posts must tag @azmilkproducers on Facebook and Instagram posts.
All publications or program materials must contain the following statement:
“Any opinions, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this [publication/program/activity/film/video/Web site/event] are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent those of the Dairy Council of Arizona.”
Publication and Distribution
Dairy Council of Arizona may publish, distribute and make available to the public the names of grantees and the results and or outcomes of the Dairy Council of Arizona Moo Brew Coffee Grant Program. Generally, the publication shall be in journals, on the National Dairy Council Website (www.nationaldairycouncil.org) and/or in similar media.
