Fruit and Oat Smoothie

Ingredients
  • ​½ c rolled Quaker©​ oats
  • 1 c milk fat-free, lactose-free
  • ½ ea banana 6”
  • ¼ c strawberries fresh or frozen
  • ¾ c vanilla Kefir
  • 3 ea ice cubes
  • 1 ea strawberry fresh (for garnish)
Instructions
To make oatmeal
  1. Combine rolled oats and fat-free, lactose-free milk in saucepan; simmer for 5 minutes or until oats have absorbed a majority of the milk. Oatmeal will yield 1 cup.
  2. Let cool.
To make smoothie
  1. In blender, combine 1 cup cooked oatmeal, half of a ripe banana, ¼ cup frozen (or fresstrawberries, ¾ cup Kefir, and ice cubes. Blend until smooth.
  2. Serve immediately with fresh strawberry garnish (optional).
